So tonight, I paid $3 for a PBR. Why would I pay half the cost of a 6-pack for one beer you might ask? Because I am/was in New york City tonight.
Me and my brother Joe went to the City on our east coast escapades and hooked up with Lauren.
We went to a really "southern" bar which was loud and not much or anything but that.
Second we went to a nice quite bar and sat on the patio, 'twas nice!
The last bar we went to was a small bar called Sidewalk Cafe. There was one of Lauren's friend was playing acoustic guitar, and she was pretty awesome!
When it was our time to leave, we gave ourself plenty of time to catch the train back to NJ, however we did not anticipate the Metro being down for maintnence...
The L train back to the 1,2,3 line had the East train running on the West line after Midnight, however we did not know this (and the maintnence crew there to work did not either) and we missed the train that would have gotten us to Penn station in time for our 12:34am train to NJ.
However... we were on the East track (which wasnt roped off til we were already on it, and we wernt informed) when the train stopped on the West track. The situation was exacurbated by the fact that the two sides of the station are not connected undergroun like 99% of the station, instead we had to run up and across the street.
We eventually got to 14th street around 12:30 and knew that it was impossible to go about 20 blocks in 4 minutes... So we decided to catch the Path train back.
The Path train left at 1:15am... so we ended up waiting for some time... we caught a train that went through the station and was heading the wrong was (unkown to us) at 1:05am. Luckily that train reversed and hit up 14th street again at 1:15am.
We made it to hoboken NJ around 1:30 am (long past the time we were suppose to be back to South Orange, and hopped on the train.
The train didnt leave till 1:45am, and was fairly uneventful. Joe played with my camera and I nodded off a few times. We finally arrived back to south orange around 2:15am... about 1.25 hours after we should have been :-\
Luckily this time, the Cadillac decided to start! (More on that later).
More on this crazy trip later to include NJ drinking, Yuengling factory tour, Ghost town of Centralia PA, and Atlantic City!
Peace
